The Ramdance Movement

The Ramdance Movement, An independent modern contemporary dance collective based in Washington, DC started in 2020 by Founder/Artistic Director Ronnique Antoinette. The Ramdance Movement is to create dance that addresses social norms, history and culture. To provide artists with the opportunity to perform as well as create choreography, utilize movement, while also connecting both dancer and audience in a meaningful experience. With choreographer Ronnique Antoinette’s artistic vision, The Ramdance Movement mission is to bring people together in dynamic, collective movement experiences that affect personal growth and social change.

She is a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. Ronnique has had the opportunity to perform in works by Daniel Gwirtzman, Judith Steel, Scott Putman, Roger Lee Dance Company, LLC, Maverick Lemon Dance Project, Kyoko Ruch, Snoop Dogg, BREathe Dance Project & Step Afrika! In 2010, Ronnique was featured in a reconstruction of the seminal work ‘Shelter’ by Jawole Willa Jo Zollar, Founder of The Urban Bush Woman Dance Company which aired in a documentary on PBS station. She has choreographed as well as co-choreographed for various dance companies, dance productions,  competitions, dance films, showcases, pageants, & arts education programs/workshops for local elementary/middle & high schools.  Ronnique is Founder/Artistic Director of The Ramdance Movement dance collective. Her choreographed works has been premiered at The International Association of Blacks in Dance, Intersections Festival, Barnstorm Dance Festival (Houston, TX) & The Kennedy Center (Millennium stage). She is currently serving as a professional Creative director, Dance Educator, Dancer & Choreographer in DC/MD area.


With choreographer Ronnique Antoinette’s artistic vision, The Ramdance Movement mission is to bring people together in dynamic, collective movement experiences that affect personal growth and social change.
 
The Ramdance Movement creates choreographed works for the stage, site specifics and arts related venues. Also involving itself with the community offering classes for after school programs, residences ,rehabilitation centers and autism awareness programs.
