AGE RESTRICTIONS

Rising 1st-graders through 5th- graders are eligible for Sports Meets the Arts and Arts Journeys Camp.

Rising 3rd-graders through rising 8th-graders are eligible to participate in Performing Arts Camp.

Rising 9th-graders through rising 12th-graders can attend our Broadway at BlackRock program or apply for our Counselor in Training Program.

EARLY REGISTRATION AND DISCOUNTS
Discounts include: MCPS staff discount of 10%, sibling discount of $10.00 per week, and veteran discount of 10%. Registration information for CITs will be sent by the Education Department along with the invitation to participate.
CAMP RULES
All campers are to abide by behavior policies stated at the time of registration and outlined in the Summer Camp Handbook. Consequences for inappropriate or unsafe behavior include BlackRock’s right to excuse a child from camp.
REFUND POLICY
If a refund request is made 2 weeks or more before the start date of camp, and tuition has been paid in full, you are entitled to a 50% refund or 100% credit. If paying for camp with a two part payment plan, and final payment has not been made, the initial payment is returned with a $25.00 processing fee or 100% credited. No refunds will be provided within 2 weeks of a camp start date or after the camp has started. CIT tuition is non-refundable.
COVID SAFETY PROTOCALS & POLICIES
BlackRock Youth Art Academy encourages all participants to wear masks and maintain appropriate social distancing when possible. All camp participants should refrain from attending camp while experiencing any COVID-19 related symptoms.
If a camper tests positive for COVID, the camper will be given a credit for days missed due to quarantine requirements. Credit can be applied toward camp or running seasonal classes through Summer 2023. No refunds will be given. Families of children in close contact with someone who tests positive for COVID will be notified. Testing is strongly encouraged in these cases.
PAYMENT PLAN
There is a payment plan available. A $25.00 non-refundable fee is due at the time of registration. The remaining balance is divided into two payments, one due on June 1st and a second due on July 15th from an automatic withdrawal. This payment plan is per camp, per camper.
HEALTH FORMS
Health and emergency information is included in the online registration process and upon completing the Camper Information Form. All additional required forms can be downloaded from the BlackRock Camps website, including the Authorization for Medication Form.
MEDIA RELEASE
BlackRock reserves the right to use photographs and video taken in class or at the center, of campers, participants, and/or their artwork for the purpose of instruction, and/or advertising and promotion of BlackRock and its programs. Participants and families will not receive compensation of any kind for use of these images. If you do not agree you must notify the Education Manager of Camps & Outreach as well as indicate in the Camper Information Form.
