Join us for BlackRock’s biggest night of the year as we celebrate a true champion of the arts with our Annual Visionary Award.
Now in its third year, the Visionary Award honors an individual, institution, or project whose leadership has meaningfully uplifted creativity, culture, and community throughout the Upcounty. Established in 2023 for BlackRock’s 20th Anniversary, this award recognizes those who embody our mission and values by strengthening the role of arts and culture in upper Montgomery County.
Nominations are now open.
This evening brings together art lovers, local leaders, and changemakers for a fundraiser celebration filled with live entertainment, food and drinks, inspiring stories, and artistic moments that showcase the heart of BlackRock. The theme of this year will pay homage to the music movement of the 60s and 70s. In addition to the award ceremony, the event will feature a cocktail hour with decade inspired drinks, a gourmet soul food inspired menu, dinner and dancing, and more.
WHAT TO EXPECT
6:00 PM
Doors open for registration and a cocktail hour in our Grand Lobby and Kay Gallery. Sip, snack on light bites, try your luck at our gorgeous wine pull, and enjoy an interactive art demonstration by Brandon J. Donahue-Shipp.
6:45 PM
The BlackBox Theater opens with mouthwatering soul-food stations curated by Chef Gayle, paired with live entertainment covering hits from Stevie Wonder, Bob Marley, and the Beatles!
7:30 PM
Join us in the BlackBox as we honor excellence, creativity, and impact with our Visionary Award Presentation and a toast to our Visionary Award Winner(s).
8:30 PM
The celebration continues with further live entertainment. Dance, mingle, and dive back into interactive art experiences as the night comes alive.
9:30 PM
End the evening on a high note with Jamison Cake Pops, our delicious goodbye waiting for you at the door.
