Payment Information: Payment must be made at the time of registration by cash, check or credit card. Checks and money orders should be made payable to BlackRock Center for the Arts and must include name, address, home and work telephone numbers, and participant’s full name. There is a $35 charge for returned checks. VISA, MasterCard, AmEx and Discover payments are accepted. Spaces will not be held without payment or payment plan agreement.
Seasonal Payment Plan: For classes being held in just our fall, winter, spring and summer sessions, education invoices totaling $400 or more for classes and/or camps, a payment plan is available. Requests for payment plans must be made in person at BlackRock or over the phone, they may not be made online. Payment plans are available using a valid credit card for payment only. 50% of the registration fees plus a $20 payment plan processing fee are due in full at the time of registration. The balance will be automatically charged by the registration system to the credit card on file prior to the start of the first class. If the credit card charge should fail, payment is due in full prior to the second class or the student will automatically be withdrawn and all payments made to date as part of the payment plan forfeited. Should the student choose to not attend class after registering, all withdrawal policies and fees will remain in effect.
Paying for your Conservatory Class
There are two options available to pay for a Conservatory class. You may pay the tuition in full at the time of registration or enroll in one of our available payment plans. For more details on available payment plans, see our registration policies on page 22, view payment plan pages at blackrockcenter.org under ‘education’ or call 301-528-2260.
Conservatory Payment Plans can only be processed using a valid credit card and may be set up online, over the phone or in person at the BlackRock Center for the Arts Front Desk.
There are 3 payment plans available:
Monthly– Tuition divided into 10 payments total: 1 month’s payment plus a $50 processing fee due at the time of registration. All remaining payments will be automatically charged to the credit card on file at 12:01am on the 1st of every month between August or September 2017 to May or June 2018, depending on when you registered for the class.
Three-Part Payment Plan: Tuition divided into 3 payments total: 34% plus a $25 processing fee due at the time of registration. The second and third payments will be automatically charged to the credit card on file at 12:01am on November 1, 2017 and February 1, 2018.
Two-Payment– First half of tuition, plus a $20 processing fee due at the time of registration. The second payment will be automatically charged to the credit card on file at 12:01am on February 1, 2018.
*Please note: If you are registering for a Conservatory class starting in our Winter session, the Two-Payment plan is the only option available.
Important Details to remember when setting up a Payment Plan:
When setting up an online payment plan, you must click a box marked “Accept Payment Plan” in order to move forward with your selected plan, otherwise, the full amount of the class will be charged at the time of registration.
If a credit card is declined on a scheduled payment date, families have 10 days to supply BlackRock with their payment and must provide a new valid credit card. Failure to pay a scheduled payment after the 10-day grace period will result in withdrawal of that student from the class.
Each Conservatory class comes with the option of its own payment plan. For example, if you sign up for a Ballet and Piano Conservatory class at the same time, you may select a Payment Plan for each class. Those payments plans can be different (monthly, quarterly or two-payment) for each class depending on your preference.
If you purchase a year-long Conservatory class and a Seasonal (only Fall, Winter Spring or Summer) class/camp at the same time, the selected payment plan will only apply to the Conservatory class. Your Seasonal class must be paid in full at the time of registration.
Declined Payments: If a credit card is declined, families have 10 days to supply BlackRock with their payment and must provide a new valid credit card. Failure to pay a scheduled payment after the 10-day grace period will result in withdrawal of that student from the class.
Transfers, Refunds, and Withdrawals:
Requests to transfer between classes must be made in writing using the ‘transfers, refunds and withdrawals’ form on our website or fill it out at our front desk. Please email downloaded and filled out forms to firstname.lastname@example.org.
