About the Event

ktm eXtreme dance project was founded in the fall of 1988 by Kevin T. Malone while choreographing his BFA Senior Dance Concert at University of the Arts. The project name eXtreme simply implies the various Artistic disciplines and genres of performing arts, specifically dance that influences Kevin’s artistic scope

of work still today. The project has been a mainstay here locally in the DMV expanding over numerous decades. Ktm eXtreme dance project has presented

work globally performing in Bermuda , Amsterdam, China, and Canada. The project has been the recipient of several prestigious Awards for Outstanding Choreography as well as Choreographer of the Year from Youth America Grand Prix for several years. Not to mention the project has been awarded generous

support through federal and state grants from DC Commission Of The Arts and The Pennsylvania State Commission of the Arts.

Ktm eXtreme dance project has been co-presented over the years from the Dance Place, Liz Lerman Dance Exchange, Dance Institute of Washington, Duke Ellington School of the Arts, University of the Arts, The Washington School of Ballet, The Davis Center and The John F. Kennedy Center. Kevin started the project to be a catalyst for his promising Artistic Students and young talented dancers that he personally mentored to assist them with achieving amazing professional dance careers. Providing expressive and innovative choreography that helps them to further enhance their artistry. As an ever evolving and project focusing on bridging proud traditions of African American Dance Traditions with current modern times that promotes inclusivity, equity, diversity and art that is cross cultural for all to experience. The future of ktm eXtreme dance project has allowed me to collaboratively enlist the support of my trusted Artistic Colleagues of Tammy Hurt, Adrian Vincent James, Derrick J. Sellers, Edna Knox Davin, Kaiti Reese Davin, Josh Isaac, Sandra Holloway, Darrell Cortez, Robert E. Person and Pamela Sparkle Hobson. Moving forward towards endless possibilities. Art mirrors life, a life of abundance.
