Reva Thompson

Education Manager

Reva Thompson received a Bachelor of Arts in Vocal Performance from York College of Pennsylvania, and her Master's in music from James Madison University. At JMU, she began her Education journey at the Office of Outreach & Engagement – fundraising, executing, and marketing adult education for non-traditional and life-long learning students. Upon graduating, she became an Admissions Counselor at 2U, Inc, helping to launch Vanderbilt University’s Engineering Management and Computer Science online master's degrees. She made a professional pivot in January of 2022 and merged her love of the arts and education by working with The Leaders of Tomorrow Youth Center to teach everything from beauty to music to culinary arts!

Reva began working at BlackRock as the Education Manager in June of 2022 and is thrilled with the opportunity to implement quality arts education and offer scholarship opportunities for students in financial need. She, one day, plans to own a performing arts boarding school named after her late mother, Romelita Rose, and offer students scholarships and a safe home. Reva is a huge advocate for human and animal rights, environmental and racial justice, and anti-oppression activism. She currently lives in Prince George’s County with her father, Robert, and a very grumpy Sphynx cat, Romeo – named after her mother. She is still a classically trained lyric coloratura soprano and independent artist, under the name Tonty.
