SAY IT LOUD, PLAY IT LOUD! BlackRock Center for the Arts celebrates Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

This year, BlackRock expanded the scope of their annual Say It Loud festival by adding in a record fair and a live musical performance by The Jogo Project, headlined by Nag Champa Ensemble.

A display of music records, action figures, and marketing materials
Local record vendors from across Maryland and D.C. came out to sell and trade records.

The Upcounty record fair featured eclectic record vendors from across the DMV. DJ sets were performed throughout the day by Leon City Sounds, DJ Mikie Love, and DJ Gamma, amongst others!

The day boasted an all day free film festival, a free record fair, and a gallery opening for Taj Poscé's Between Sunbeams. The BlackFire documentary was accompanied by a panel discussion with Jamal Gray and James "Plunky" Branch, moderated by DC Jazz Fest Artistic Director & WPFW Ancient Future Host Willard Jenkins.

The crowd was up & dancing for the JoGo Project Concert featuring Elijah Jamal Balbed and Desiree Jordan.
