About the Event
BEN DEMASE
5 PM - Local Artist Highlight!
Ben is a rising 9th grader from Loudoun County, Virginia and has been singing and playing guitar for over five years. Most recently, he was a featured artist in “Music in the Tabernacle,” a series of virtually aired concerts sponsored by the Purcellville Parks and Recreation Committee. Ben has participated at a few Purcellville Music and Arts Festivals on the Community Stage. He has also participated in Loudoun County Parks and Recreation sponsored events, such as “Live and Wired,” and “Battle of the Bands.” This summer, he attended PAVAN Regional Governor’s School for the Arts as a vocalist. Ben enjoys performing at open mic nights. He has been writing and recording his original music and takes inspiration from his favorite bands Radiohead, The Smiths and other indie artists. Ben has been invited to play at upcoming music events this Fall.

MAYA NICOLE

Born and raised in Maryland and now preparing to study songwriting at MTSU just outside of Nashville, Tennessee, Maya Nicole is an Americana singer-songwriter. Over the years, Mayahas immersed herself in countless musical projects with friends and family playing a variety of instruments and spanning multiple genres, until she eventually developed her own Americana career. She creatively incorporates nature, personal experiences, working class struggles, and countless other lyrical themes into her music which combines characteristic roots music with Maya’s own distinctive sound, and she can’t wait to see where her songwriting journey takes her next.

Audiences are encouraged to bring their own lawn chair and/or blanket, purchase dinner from one of our many local restaurants, and enjoy various beverages and treats that are offered at the BlackRock bar and concessions.
This series is focused on highlighting local artists and offering a safe, enjoyable, and entertaining space for the community to come together, as we all get #Back2BlackRock.
