YOUTH ART MONTH
SUBMISSIONS DUE FEB 21 | VIRTUAL EXHIBIT MARCH 2021
Youth Art Month (YAM) is a celebration and recognition of art education sponsored by the National Art Education Association and administered by the Council for Art Education. YAM exists to recognize art education as a viable factor in the total education curriculum that develops citizens of a global society.

In our sixth year of participation, BlackRock Center for the Arts is pleased to invite students, parents, and teachers to submit artwork centering around this year's theme, "Art Connects Us." At a time when we are physically isolated, art, in all different forms truly has the power to bring us together.

SUBMIT ARTWORK
After completing the above form, please email digital image(s) of your artwork to blackrockeducationdept@gmail.com.
Here are some tips for photographing your artwork:
-
Make sure there is good lighting to capture the details of your artwork. Natural light without shadows works best.
-
Make sure there are no other elements in the shot. Putting artwork against a white wall with no other background works best.
-
Most cell phones take excellent photos. Try different modes (e.g., portrait) to change the focal point of your photo.
-
Use the correct photo orientation, vertical mode for up-and-down pieces and horizontal mode for side-to-side pieces.

Here are some tips for emailing your artwork:
-
Save your files as .JPEG, .JPG, or .PNG. We do not accept .HEIC images.
-
Subject line should read: Youth Art Month Submission - First and Last Name
-
Include your name and the name of your artwork in the body of the email.
-
Attach your photo(s). Do NOT embed them into an email.

If you have any questions about the form, emailing artwork or the exhibit in general, please email blackrockeducationdept@gmail.com. Thank you!
