BlackRock Center for the Arts is expanding its BlackRock Improv Comedy (BRIC) program with a new, monthly improv workshop!
These workshops will be held the first Saturday of every month, and are open to everyone, whether you are new to improvised theater and looking to try it out, or if you have improv experience and want to play and participate in an afternoon of fun.
Workshops will start with a brief introduction to the basics of improvisational comedy theater through a series of fun introduction activities, warm-ups, and exercises that focusing on support, group agreement, spontaneity, and the principals of “yes, and…” Then it is time for games, games, and more games. Have a blast with fellow participants as our hilarious instructors lead everyone through classic and entertaining improve games in the style of the television show “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” This no pressure workshop encourages everyone to have a great time while learning a little about improv in the process.
