BlackRock Improv Comedy (BRIC)

BlackRock Improv Comedy (BRIC) explores the exciting art form of theatrical improvisation, or script-less theater and comedy, through an inclusive curriculum of classes that provide students with opportunities to learn, develop, advance and perform. BRIC seeks to increase the awareness of improvisation and comedy as a means of developing the life skills of acceptance, support, and positivity that in turn, strengthen our surrounding community.

While this program is comprehensive, classes also function independently, allowing students to enroll and perform once, or as many times as you would like, in order to reach personal and/or professional goals including public speaking, leadership, communication, spontaneity, creativity, “breaking out of one's shell,” and more.

Through this program, BRIC will work to assemble a local improv comedy troupe or house troupe that will produce and perform here at BlackRock.

Instructor, Callan Holderbaum, is a member of the Maryland Ensemble Theater and currently performs with The Comedy Pigs; a 20-year-old Improv Comedy Troupe in Frederick, MD.
