Rising Grades 3-8

$350 per one mini session
Let’s put on a show! Our professional, artistic staff will guide campers through this intensive musical theater program. Campers will be grouped by age and are cast in an original show where they will learn stage directions, character development, choreography, music, set design and art. On the last day, campers will perform their production on our Main Stage for family and friends. Please do not miss this exciting camp. It will fill up fast, so register today!

Campers will journey to places that only the arts can take them using theater, music, visual arts, and dance. Each day campers will immerse themselves in visual art, music, theater, and dance centered and interpreted through a theme. Young artists create art projects, learn new songs, dances, and will act in different skits. Culminating each week, campers will have the opportunity to showcase their work on BlackRock’s outdoor stage. With a different theme each week, BlackRock’s Arts Journeys are guaranteed to be fun, entertaining, and educational. There are no limits to imagination and fun!

BlackRock's Counselor in Training (CIT) Program is returning this summer! Accepted applicants will serve as leaders and mentors in our Summer Youth Art Academy. This is the perfect opportunity for youth to build their professional skill set and earn SSL hours.
Camp session themes coming soon!
BlackRock is partnering with the Maryland Soccerplex & Adventist HealthCare Fieldhouse to bring a half-day sports and half-day arts camp for five weeks in June and July. All activities will take place at the Adventist HealthCare Fieldhouse at the Maryland Soccerplex where teaching artists from BlackRock will engage campers in visual arts activities. For ages 5-11. SONIE MATHEW
SCHOLARSHIP FUND
On February 9, 2021 BlackRock lost a legacy and friend, Teaching Artist Sonie Mathew. Sonie touched the lives of over a thousand young people in his decade of service to BlackRock education programs who like him, share a passion for theater and music. Mr. Sonie understood the benefits of a performing arts education, lessons that could be applied for life.
This scholarship opportunity serves 75% of tuition fees for the Summer Youth Art Academy and the Counselor in Training Program. This scholarship is not applicable for the Sports Meets the Arts camp run in partnership with Maryland SoccerPlex.
