Our Ticket Policies and How to Buy

You may purchase tickets online, by calling our box office at 240.912.1058, or in person at our box office on:
Monday between 10 AM and 5PM
Tuesday – Friday between 10 AM and 7 PM.

Tickets are only available for purchase online up to 60 minutes before a performance begins. If you would like to purchase tickets to a performance within the 60 minutes prior to the start time, please visit us in person.

Venues and Seating


Our 221-seat proscenium style theater is a spectacularly intimate place to take in a performance, and is well-recognized for its outstanding acoustics. You'll sit in plush reserved seating and never be too far from the stage.


Our smaller performance venue, the Studio Theater, is a convertible black box performance space with flexible seating. Enjoy a drink from our bar while you take in a show in the round, in club-style seating, or in traditional rows. The Studio Theater is also home to our dance series, and is our most popular rental space for weddings, parties, and special events for up to 200 people.


Showcasing the work of emerging and mid-career artists from the Mid-Atlantic region, the intimate, 1500 square-foot art gallery is noteworthy for its soaring ceilings and natural light. Located on the first floor, the gallery also serves as a performance venue for classical music concerts, and is a fabulous space to rent for your special events. Our outdoor stage serves as a performance venue for our free summer concert series. The expansive stage directs sound to our large front lawn, the perfect setting to relax and listen to “cool sounds on a warm night.”

Ways to Save

Group Discount: Got a group of 10 or more? Save 10% off your tickets! Call 240.912.1058 to purchase group tickets today.

Senior Discount: Patrons age 62 and over save $2 on single tickets to all performances.

Military/DOD personnel, Montgomery County Government and Montgomery County Public Schools employees. Receive 10% off on tickets. You may be asked to show ID or an valid company email to to redeem these discounts.

Discounts may not be combined with other discounts or promotions or used on previously purchased tickets.

Policies, Refunds, Returns and Exchanges

All sales are final. There are no refunds, returns, or exchanges. However, BlackRock allows up to two complimentary exchanges for Package purchasers. Upgrade fees may apply. Please contact the box office for details.

Terms and Conditions

All sales are final. All tickets are pre-paid and non-refundable.


If a performance is cancelled, BlackRock will make every effort to reschedule the performance. If a new performance date is unable to be scheduled, a refund of the ticket price will be available through the box office for 30 days after the originally scheduled performance date. Patrons that are unable to attend the rescheduled date(s) may request a refund via email to boxoffice@blackrockcenter.org before the rescheduled performance date. Requests made after the rescheduled date will not be honored.

Ticket Exchanges

BlackRock understands that plans change and we make every effort to accommodate our patrons’ needs.

BlackRock Supporter and Family Fan Members enjoy two free ticket exchanges per season. Patron Members and above enjoy unlimited exchange benefits. Please contact the box office for details. Exchange requests must be made prior to two business days before the performance.

A purchaser of an individual ticket may, make an exchange by phone or in person until 48 business hours before the performance, subject to availability. There will be a $5 servicing fee per exchange transaction.

Tickets cannot be exchanged after the performance has taken place. Exchanges will only be accepted if requested before the deadlines noted above. Ticket exchanges are NOT available for independently produced rental shows.

Ticket Donation
If you are unable to use your tickets, they may be returned for a tax-deductible donation prior to the performance. Donations can be made by mail, fax or in person by 24 hours prior to the performance. Within 30 days, BlackRock will send a written acknowledgment of the donation in the amount of the face value of your tickets, and not including ticket processing fees.

Facility Fund

Every day wear and tear on BlackRock’s beautiful facilities take a toll on the services we’re able to provide to the community. It takes more funding for upkeep than our ticket prices can pay for. As such, we are asking for a suggested donation of $3.50-$5.00 per ticket to go towards our Facility Fund to help keep BlackRock beautiful and fresh.

Pick-up of Tickets

Tickets will be available for pick up at Will Call one hour before the performance. To avoid lines at Will Call you may print your tickets at home or use you mobile device if they were purchased online. If you purchased over the phone, please note that tickets cannot be picked up prior to one hour before the performance, and tickets cannot be mailed.

Children and Lap Infants
Many events at BlackRock Center for the Arts are specifically designed for families and we encourage patrons to enjoy these events with children. For performances marked as Lap-Infant OK, children UNDER two years of age and seated on a parent's lap may enter the theater without a ticket. Children two years and older must have a ticket to attend any event.

For performances that are specifically geared toward early-childhood learning, children of all ages (including babes-in-arms) will need to have a ticket purchased beside their parents.

For events not specifically geared for young audiences, parents are asked to use discretion when bringing children.

Use of Technology

The use of cameras, video equipment, phones and other recording devices is strictly prohibited at BlackRock during all performances unless otherwise instructed.

Code of Conduct

BlackRock management reserves the right to refuse admission or eject any person whose conduct is deemed by management to be disorderly or who fails to comply with the terms and conditions herein.


Patrons indemnify and agree to keep indemnified BlackRock Center for the Arts in respect to loss, damage and injury occurring on premises or during any BlackRock event. BlackRock, its staff, officers, artists and agents assume no responsibility or liability for any injuries or loss resulting from any exhibit, event or performance whether occurring prior to, during or after said show.

Photo/Video Release

You consent to the use of your image or likeness incidental to any display, transmission or reproduction of the exhibit, performance or event.

Sell-Out Performances and Standing Room Only

When a performance is sold out of available seats, a limited number of standing room only tickets (17 for MainStage and 20 for Studio Theater) will be made available for purchase online, over the phone, and in person. This does not apply to the BlackBox Theater that are General Admission Standing Room.

Wait lists will be made available when seats for the show are sold out and are limited to 20 people.
