YOUTH ART MONTH: MONTGOMERY COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS

MARCH 1 – 10, 2018 | TERRACE GALLERY

BlackRock is pleased to celebrate Youth Art Month by presenting a series of exhibits featuring art by students from area schools. The first exhibit in the series showcases works by Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) students who attend elementary, middle and high schools located in Germantown, MD. The exhibit includes art teacher selections of two- and three-dimensional pieces which represent a small sampling of the art projects being created each school day by talented students in our community supported by dedicated MCPS art teachers. Youth Art Month is an annual celebration emphasizing the value of art education, encouraging support for quality school art programs, and recognizing the valuable skills developed through the visual arts curriculum that are not possible in other subjects. Sponsored by the National Art Education Association, the theme for Youth Art Month this year is “Building Community Through Art.”
