The self-styled “urban jazz harmonicist” defies expectations and coaxes contemporary jazz, R&B and a rainbow of genres from the harmonica. His unique ability to play chromatically on a ten-hole diatonic harmonica gives Yonnet unlimited access to notes and sounds that don’t naturally exist on the instrument. Guest vocalist Maimouna Youssef will join Yonnet onstage, along with Daryl Hunt on keyboard, Christopher Bynum on drums, Robbie McDonald on guitar and Dennis Turner on bass. Included in the program are songs from Yonnet’s upcoming CD,
Reed My Lips.
