National Players’ Hamlet

Tue, Nov 15 | 10:30 AM
Post Show Q&A: 12 PM

The prince of Denmark returns  home from school to find his family life in ruins—his father dead, his mother remarried, and  his uncle (now step-father) ruling the country. When his father’s ghost appears with dire announcements, Hamlet struggles to redefine his life and find his way forward. This is the first time in 32 years that National Players has produced Shakespeare’s most prolific play. Come see it again in a new light.

National Players’ The Giver

Thu, Jan 12 | 10:30 AM
Post Show Q&A 11:45 AM

In a “utopian” future of sameness,  young Jonas inherits an unusual career: to receive and keep the memories of his community’s past. Throughout lessons with his elder predecessor, The Giver teaches Jonas of love, war, and all of life’s unknown joys and pains. As his oppressive world continues unchanged, Jonas must decide whether to keep these secrets or upend his community. This modern classic explores the risks and rewards of a full life.

How many students can your space hold?

Our Mainstage theater has 221 seats. We can fit approximately 200 students in our Studio Theatre with both chairs and floor seating.

What do I need to do to reserve tickets & when are payments due?

Once final show dates are announced, we will work with you to generate an invoice with an estimate of the total cost. Once the invoice is generated, 50% down payment of the estimated total cost is required to confirm your reservation and hold your seats. This 50% down payment is due via check within 7 days. Closer to the date of the show, we will confirm your final ticket count (including all students, teachers, and chaperones); and then we will then send you an updated invoice with your final total.

Additional parents want to attend, will they be allowed to come?

If tickets are available, they may purchase them through the Patron Services Manager either over the phone, or in person at BlackRock. Their tickets will be the regular family show price, $18.00.

When should we arrive?

We recommend that you arrive 15-30 minutes before the start of the show, to allow us adequate time to seat you. When you confirm your final ticket count, we will ask for a cell phone contact number for the day of the show. This will only be used if you are running late, so we can check your estimated time of arrival and coordinate late seating.

Where can the buses pull up?

The buses should drop students off in our parking lot, located at the rear of our building. Is there a place to eat lunch? Weather permitting, there is space available on our front lawn/outdoor stage for an outdoor picnic.

Are study guides available?

If requested, we will provide you with a brief study guide to accompany the performance when we confirm your final ticket count.
