Passionate about drawing and the joys and rigors of mark making, Jake Muirhead and Lee Newman explore the interplay of observation, memory and imagination in hand-pulled intaglio prints displayed alongside drawings, a juxtaposition which exposes the creative link between the initial graphic image and its final printed form. In etchings and drypoint prints filled with powerful contrasts, Muirhead and Newman vary the pressure of delicate and decisive lines to define the structure, volume and gesture of representational forms.
