For 20+ years, this acclaimed New York City-based contemporary music quartet has conceived, commissioned, produced, and performed rich multimedia concert works and released several acclaimed albums. Noted as “vital and brilliant,” “downtown’s reigning string quartet” (The New Yorker), and “one of the most exciting quartets around” (Strad Magazine), the quartet invigorates the contemporary music scene with exuberance, intensity, imaginative programming, and exceptional artistry.
ETHEL has premiered more than 150 works by groundbreaking composers—many of them written for ETHEL—and has collaborated with an extraordinary range of artists. ETHEL will bring their program “Grace,” which connotes effortless beauty and charm, goodwill, a favor, and a reprieve. This program is a journey to redemption through music. In complex, stressful times and in a world overwhelmed by seemingly irreconcilable differences and unsustainable challenges, music provides both an immediate means of relief and a medium for long-term healing and understanding. The centerpiece of this astonishing program is ETHEL’s own adaptation of Ennio Morricone’s moving score to the 1986 film, The Mission.
This event will be in the Studio Theater and has General Admission (no reserved seating). If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our Patron Services team by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org, or calling 240-912-1058. See our full list of ticketing policies here.
