With its captivating sound, Dalí Quartet is today’s freshest voice in Classical and Latin-American music. Anchored in both Venezuela’s El Sistema and in American classical conservatory traditions, this exciting young quartet combines the best of both worlds. Named for famous Spanish artist Salvador Dalí, this Philadelphia-based ensemble pushes the boundaries of imagination with rhythm and sound.
The Dalí Quartet will perform in the BlackRock Main Gallery, amongst the Cuban Pop paintings and prints of artist Ric Garcia. The evening’s performance will take place in this 1500 square-foot Gallery space, transformed for the night into an intimate and unique performance venue. A discussion with artist Ric Garcia will occur during intermission.
The evening’s program includes a variety of works by Argentinean, Cuban and Venezuelan composers, including Efraín Amaya, Juan Bautista Plaza, Carlos Gardel, Paquito D’Rivera and Abelardito Valdes, as well as the String Quartet in D Major, KV 575 by W.A. Mozart.
