The Conservatory at BlackRock is comprised of dance, music, theater and visual art classes that are taken during the academic year from September 2017 through June 2018. These classes allow students to build their skills in the same class with the same teacher maximizing skill development in their chosen discipline. Important details about the conservatory are listed below:
- When you register for a conservatory class, you are registering for the full academic year with multiple payment options available. All conservatory classes will culminate in a mid-year demonstration in December and spring conservatory recitals in June 2018.

Conservatory students will participate in two performances this year. We will continue to hold our formal spring recital in June as a culmination of a full year of study. We will also hold a mid-year demonstration in December giving students an opportunity to experience the important component of live performance early-on in their year of study. The mid-year demonstrations are less formal than the spring recital as students will be only 12 weeks into a full year of study. Please note that the mid-year demonstrations will be scheduled for Saturday, Dec 9, 2017 and Wednesday, Dec 13, 2017, and the spring recital weekend is currently scheduled for Saturday, June 9, 2018 and Sunday, Jun 10, 2018. A final schedule of dates and times for the mid-year demonstrations will be formalized by the end of October, and a final schedule of dates and times for the spring recital will be finalized by the end of April.

Piano and violin conservatories are our offerings for the focused study of music. The piano program is meant to be taken in sequence over a seven-year period and covers all basic levels of experience.
There is also an advanced class for students who have completed Level 5. Violin classes also follow a track for students beginning with Introduction to Violin and culminating in Advanced Violin. All music conservatory classes participate in our spring conservatory recitals on June 9-10, 2018.
Through the course of the year, the Theater Conservatory gives students the skills to become a true thespian. Skills in acting, singing and dancing are met with building confidence and ensemble. Both classes culminate in mid-year demonstrations and spring Conservatory recitals.
Conservatory Visual Arts Classes
Visual Art Conservatory classes not only give students the chance to develop strong artistic skills, but also to learn the important component of showing their work in exhibits. These classes will culminate in an end-of-year art show in June of 2018.

Those payments plans can be different (monthly, quarterly or two-payment) for each class depending on your preference.
If you purchase a year-long Conservatory class and a Seasonal (only Fall, Winter Spring or Summer) class/camp at the same time, the selected payment plan will only apply to the Conservatory class. Your Seasonal class must be paid in full at the time of registration.
