A Message from the Board of Trustees

June 6, 2017

Dear Friends of BlackRock:

You may have heard that Krista Bradley, Executive Director of BlackRock Center for the Arts has accepted a position at the Association for Performing Arts Professionals (APAP). June 2nd was her last day. The Board of Trustees is grateful for her dedicated years of service to BlackRock, in which she expanded the performance programming and extended our community outreach. We are pleased that she has found this great career opportunity at APAP and we wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors.

The Board is currently forming a Search Committee composed of BlackRock Board members and others from the community. The committee will begin work in the coming weeks and will move as quickly as possible to fill the position, obtaining input from our staff, patrons, community, and many stakeholders and supporters.

As BlackRock enters its 15th year, we are proud of the important contributions our organization has made in bringing arts to the community – not only in Germantown and nearby Gaithersburg, Darnestown, Poolesville, Clarksburg, Barnesville and Dickerson – but across all of Montgomery County as well. Our diverse performances, arts education program, summer camps, art gallery exhibits, and community outreach programs have enhanced the quality of life for our community, supported businesses, and have been a prime example of why people love to live, work and play in Montgomery County.

We look forward to an exciting future as we continue to fulfill our mission. We appreciate your continued support and involvement.

Please join us this summer for our free outdoor concerts. And we invite you to stay tuned for great news from BlackRock in the months ahead!

Best regards,

David Borchardt
Chair, Board of Trustees
